A personal path toward Korean Medicine shaped by heritage, curiosity, and global experience

This journey is not simply about choosing a career, but about following a path shaped over time. For over 75 years, my family has been connected to Korean herbal medicine through a traditional clinic in Wonju, Korea, supporting countless individuals in their pursuit of health. This background shaped how I understand healing - not only as treatment, but as balance and care for the whole person. My own path began in a different field. I studied fine art in Canada and later at the Maryland Institute College of Art in the United States, and worked as an artist in Korea. Through art, I explored ways of seeing and understanding people, which eventually led me to a deeper question : what does it truly mean to heal? That question led me to Korean Medicine. Along the way, I developed a strong interest in herbal medicine and natural healing, supported by science-based research and a growing curiosity about how traditional knowledge can be understood through modern perspectives. My name is Young Ju Lee, and I am now preparing to study Korean Medicine in Korea, with the goal of connecting its values and insights to a broader global audience. This website is a record of that path.
